Waukesha, WI -
Imagine Motorsports took part in the
17th annual GoodGuys Great Lakes
Nationals car show this last weekend
in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The
GoodGuys event draws nearly 1500 hot
rods, classic iron and musclecars
from all over the midwest. This
year's event went smoothly with
great weather (except for a brief
shower on Friday afternoon) and a
really good turnout of high-quality
collector cars. The Imagine
Motorsports entry, a 1969 Yenko
Chevelle, owned by Bob Davis, was
the recipient of the OPTIMA
Batteries Power Pick, being
recognized for an outstanding
example of factory muscle. Don Yenko
produced only 99 Chevelles in 1969,
all with the L72 425 HP 427 big
block Chevy motor. This high-revving
block was built specifically for
drag race competition right off the
showroom floor. Only 22 of the
original 99 are in existence today.
